Welcome to Buschert Farms, my name is Brent and I am a 4th generation farmer.
My family has been farming here in the Carstairs area since 1903. In 1940 my grandparents purchased the place we are currently on, which happens to be across the road from the original homestead.
It was originally a mixed farm of everything; then when my parents took over the farm in the late 60’s they settled on having a poultry, dairy, cow-calf and grain operation.
As times changed we eventually got out of milking cows and grew the beef herd. Now as I have stepped into the role over the last several years, the focus of the operation has been growing various types of cereal grains, oil seeds and pulses. As well as growing the beef herd and working hard at making sure we have a top notch cattle herd which we have.
Everything I’ve learned from my Grandfather and Dad is evident in our herd – from the genetics to the feeding and handling. We produce top quality beef and are very proud of it. After so many friends and family have spoken so highly of our beef I decided to take the next steps and make it available for sale right here on the farm.
